Sultanmajid Ganizadeh
(1866-1937)

In 1883 he entered Tbilisi teachers university. After graduating education he came back to Baku. Habib bek Mahmudbekov and Sultanmajid Ganizadeh began to prepare spectacles. He wrote his first drama in 1891 , "Qönçə xanım". Unfortunately, manuscript of the play has been lost.

He had translated some play - "First Winemaker" by Leo Tolstoy. He wrote plays such as - "Xor-xor", "Axşam səbri xeyir olar", "Dursunəli və ballıbadı", "Yadımdadır" . these works were staged in different theatres. Cahangir Zeynalov, Mirzağa Əliyev, Sidqi Ruhulla, Abbasmirzə Şərifzadə, Əbülfət Vəli, Mustafa Mərdanov, İbrahim İsfahanlı, Hüseynqulu Sarabski had created unforgettable roles in these spectacles.
