Gulam Mammadli

Gulam Mammadli – was an Azerbaijani Publicist, Specialist in drama study, Annalist, from 1950 he is the member of Writers Union, honored art worker of Azerbaijan (1977), veteran labor (1976), Honored journalist of Azerbaijan (1984), Union important pensioner (1987), Laureate of "Qızıl qələm" prize of the Azerbaijan Journalists Union (1972).

Gulam Mammadli was born in South Azerbaijan Tabriz, 1897. He got primary education in the ecclesiastical school (1924-1926). He has begun to labour activities as smith in the Ashgabat workshop (1910-1914). He was a Compositor in the political department of first army in Turkustan, as actor in the Moslem theatre (1920-1921), Compositor in the state printing-house (1921-1923) . In 1923 he moved to Baku, had worked as compositor in `` III international`` publisshing house, department chief in "Kommunist" magazine, Editor deputy in "Kəndli qəzeti``, editor in "Azərbaycan kolxozçusu" newspaper, director of "Kommunist" publishing house, editor in "Yeni yol" newspaper, chief of department in `` III international`` publishing house, literary worker in Caucasian front in the Tiflis, literary worker in "Vətən yolunda" newspaper. He has been mobilized Time of The Second World War. Editor in the united publishing office, Head of the scenario department in Azerbaijan film studio, Department head in the editorial office of "Kommunist" newspaper, Responsible secretary in the editorial office of "Kirpi" satirist journal. He had retired on a pension in the 1959. he is the author of "İran Azərbaycanının müasir şairləri" (1946), "Səttarxan" şeirlər toplusu (1948), "Mirzə Əli Möcüz" (1948), "Xiyabani" (1949), "Cənubi Azərbaycan şairləri" antologiyası (1950), "Heyran xanım" (1951), "Atmacalar" (1958-1961), "Əliağa Vahid. Seçilmiş əsərləri" (1975) and others. he was elected to the position as Deputy of the Soviet of Peoples Deputies Baku October region (1935-1937).

He died on November 18, 1994 in Baku.
