Mehdi Huseyn

Huseynov Mehdi Ali oglu – was an Azerbaijani writer, dramatist, critic, public figure, people writer of Azerbaijan (1964). Mehdi Huseyn was born on April 4, 1909 in Şıxlı village of Azerbaijan. he graduated from history faculty of Azerbaijan University, and in 1936-1938, studied at scenario faculty of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow.

He was the chairman Union of Writers of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, secretary of the USSR Union of Writers, deputy of Supreme Soviet of the Azerbaijan SSR of the 5th convocation and deputy of Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union of the 6th convocation. He has begun with correspondent writings to creative activity. The first critical article ("Bizdə futurizm cərəyanı") 1926, the first story ("Qoyun qırxımı") 1927 .

The first historical narrative in Azerbaijan literature - "Komissar" (1942-1949) . The most important historical works - "Səhər" (1953), "Tərlan" (1940), "Vətən çiçəkləri" (1942), "Moskva" (1942), "Ürək" (1945), "Fəryad" (1945).

Novel dealing with the life of the oil-industry workers - "Abşeron" (1949), "Qara daşlar" (1957-1959) , "Yeraltı çaylar dənizə axır" (1965).

Plays in dramatic genre - "Şöhrət" (1939), historical dramas "Nizami" (1942) and "Cavanşir" (1957) , other dramas "Alov" (1961), "İntizar" (1944), "Şamil" (1940-1941) and "Qardaşlar" (1948) . His earlier stories describe an Azerbaijani village of post-revolutionary years "Bahar suları" (1930), "Xavər".

Mehdi Huseyn died on March 10, 1965.
