Said Rustamov
(1907 - 1983)
Said Rustamov was born in Yerevan, 1907. He went to primary school here. From 1920 he lived in Aghdam together with his family. Later they moved to Baku and here he entered to Musical school. He got involved in composing spectacle music in Drama theatre - "Hacı Qara", "Xırs quldurbasan", "Almaz", "Od gəlini", "Nüşabə", "Vaqif", "Nizami", "Vəfa", "Şərqin şəhəri", "Toy", "Aydınlıq", "Nişanlı qız".
In 1940 he wrote musical comedies "Beşmanatlıq gəlin" and later ``Durna``.
He composed music to a number of lyrics such as - "Məhəbbət", "İlk bahar", "Qurban adına", "Gəl", "Haralısan", "Alagöz", "Gəlmədin", "Sumqayıt", "Komsomol" and others.
During his career in music, Rustamov composed hundreds of musical pieces, including sheet music for popular operettas and accompaniment for many theatrical plays, as well as suites, marches, cantatas, etc.
