Arif Malikov

Arif Malikov was born in Baku, 1933. in 1948 he entered Baku Music school , tar class. He graduated from the Baku Conservatory as a music composer in 1958, where he was student of Q.Qarayev. he wrote a number of great works in his student years - "Balet süitası", "Nağıl" faciəsi, fleyta və orkestr üçün "Konsertino" and Simphony No. 1.

In 1960s he created Romances range consisted of Nazim Hikmet`s works. To this list included 4 romances -"Şən", "Lay - lay", "Təəssürat", "Yarımı yuxuda gördüm".

After "Legend of Love" he wrote "2 nəfər" and "İki qəlbin dastanı" ballets. "İki qəlbin dastanı" ballet based on "Komde və Modam" poem by M.A.Bedil.

He wrote music to cinema films and tehatre spectacles too - "Sehrli xalat", "Ulduzlar sönmür", "Rüstəm və Söhrab", "Axırıncı aşırım" films, "Natəvan", "Atabəylər" spectacles. "Şahnamə" tv series.
